Due to hormonal release cortisol and adrenaline gets eliminated from your body which is caused by taking more stress. These also helps to boost your mood. That's why exercise is beneficial for both mind and body. Specially cardiovascular(aerobic) exercise improves mental health including reducing stress and lowering the incidence of depression.
